Teacher of Figurative Drawing and Learning to Paint from Life.Born in Chicago, and studied at the American Academy of Art, Februrary 1982-June 1985, before moving to New York to continuing studies at the Art Students League, October 1985-June 1986. The New York Academy of Art, one year Scholarship 1986-1987. The School of Visual Arts, 1992. My work is inspired by Chicago's urban landscape and the people who inhabit it. Many of the subjects are close friends while some are complete strangers. Striving for truth, vibrancy and understanding, friendships evolve through the painting process. Teaching is an important part of my life and my process as an artist. I finds the dialogue with my students and being witness to their courageous, artistic journey, exhilarating.
